BAR BISTRO
HISTORIC RENOVATION AND ADDITION

Architect: Weddermann Architecture
Project Completed: 2015
The owners of this historic bar and eatery were surprised by unanticipated high costs and delays for upgrading the sewer system when renovating this space. Vader Engineering coordinated the owner’s preferred plumbing fixture layout to ensure correct routing of grey and black waters, sized the new pretreatment grease interceptor, then designed a reconnection to the exterior sewer so the owner could offer a greatly expanded food service business in a historic building. Using our research and calculations along with the re-use of the existing side sewer, the owner was able to eliminate high sewer connection fees by providing historical data to prove the facility was an existing utility user.
