To alleviate undersized access and accommodations, Vader Engineering provided engineering design for multiple projects on this 125-acre Puget Sound waterfront recreation complex. The Parking Loop 3 design was optimized to maintain the forested aesthetic, minimize grading, and to provide access for school buses and fire trucks. Stormwater treatment design leveraged native vegetation and features a unique steeper-sloped dispersion device designed in concert with GeoReources. We negotiated permission to have a single Stormwater Report and single O&M Manual for the entire site, with all of its Master Planned components, instead of the typical standalone set for each project, which ultimately saved time and money, and produced a more usable product. Design for Cabins 16 & 17 included ADA access that fits with the rustic feel of the site, with all aspects of design meant to be nearly invisible and subsequently requiring minimal maintenance. The Water Reservoir project provided site and erosion control design for a new 300,000-gallon water reservoir and associated water main extensions.
Now, campers and their families are able to access the programs directly, with ease and convenience for parking and unloading.
